Born and raised in Iowa He was a standup comedian in the late 80s and 90s Settled in Los Angeles in the early 90s and landed several television guest spots as well as numerous national commercials He studied improv comedy with Second City LA Acme and The Empty Stage Theater where he worked with SNLs Kristen Wiig in the Perks Comedy Group
