Jason Allen is a writer and filmmaker from Nashville TN He is also a wilderness guide nature photographer and awardwinning journalist His first produced screenplay was the 2009 feature film Lucky Fritz starring Corey Feldman and Julia Dietze Since then hes won Best Screenplay honors at the Nashville Film Festival San Diego Film Awards Mountain of Laughs Comedy Fest TSA Screenwriting Awards and Artlightenment Film Festival and is a seventime finalist of the Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition His writing credits also include the awardwinning short films You Destroy Me That Smell American Sock and The Seashell American Sock won Best Short Film at eight different film festivals while That Smell screened at over 80 festivals in 15 countries including the prestigious SAGAFTRA Short Film Showcase at New Yorks Robin Williams Center Most recently his films have won Best in Show at the Push Film Festival Best Screenplay at Video HackersItaly Audience Choice Award at the Flagler Film Festival Best International Short at the Mestre Film Fest in Venice and Best Comedy at LaFFVIN an annual festival hosted by the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy In addition to having had many of his screenplays produced Allen has worked on several assignments including writing an untitled animated feature for Singapores Egg Story Creative Productions As a journalist he has won three Associated Press Managing Editors Awards for feature writing His writing and photography have appeared in numerous books magazines and newspapers
