Tin Pang is an awardwinning film and television director known for crafting diverse stories that reflect contemporary Australia informed by his experiences growing up as an AsianAustralian With works ranging from irreverent comedy to intimate drama he has a strong focus on performance and the portrayal of unique characters His short films The Pale Moonlight and Mother Child have screened at festivals across the globe including MIFF Flickerfest St Kilda WorldFest Houston HollyShorts and Fantasia In 2017 Mother Child received the ATOM Award for Best Short Fiction and a Silver Remi Award at WorldFest Houston That same year Tin was invited to attend MIFFs Accelerator Lab for emerging talent In 2018 Tin completed a Directors Attachment with director Catherine Millar on A Place To Call Home Foxtel In 2021 Tin was selected as one of five directors to take part in the Equity Foundations Screen Diversity Showcase resulting in the short film Radical Honesty The film went on to screen at Peninsula Gold Coast Heart of Gold and Short Com film festivals Since 2017 Tin has worked as an Assistant Director on productions including Ladies In Black Home and Away Seven Totally Completely Fine Stan Last King Of The Cross Paramount and The Artful Dodger Disney to name a few In 2022 Tin began working as a Director on Home and Away after completing a Directors Attachment with director Ian Watson With his extensive onset experience eye for authentic storytelling and passion for working with actors Tin celebrates a wholistic and collaborative approach to navigating the filmmaking process Tin is actively developing a number of original projects including a television dramedy series that explores diversity representation and a romantic comedy feature
