Ikeido Jun was born in Gifu Prefecture Following his graduation from Keio University he began working for Mitsubishi Bank in 1988 Following his retirement from the bank in 1995 he began working as a consultant and wrote a number of business related books and supervised software for accountants In 1998 he won the 44th Edogawa Ranpo Award for Hatsuru Sukonaki and made his writing debut In 2010 he won the 31st Eiji Yoshikawa Literature New Face Award for Tetsu no Hone In 2011 he won the 145th Naoki Prize for Shitamachi Rocket
