Born in Quebec City in 1992 Safia Nolin showed an interest for music at a very young age at two she improvised unplugged concerts with her small plastic guitar around her buildings pool to her neighbours delight At 17 wanting to achieve her dream of becoming a musician Safia started learning how to play guitar on her own with a used one offered by her big brother In 2012 she concocted her first original song Igloo inspired by her neighbourhood Limoilou for which Safia won the SOCAN Best Song Award during her participation at the 44th edition of the Festival International de la Chanson de Granby Her debut album Limoilou was released on February 19th 2015 With these 13 folkinspired songs Safia won over fans and critics alike
