Paul Jay is a Canadian filmmaker and journalist born and raised in Toronto Ontario He is a dual CanadianAmerican citizen and lived in Baltimore for eight years Jay was executive producer of CBC Newsworlds CounterSpin He is the founder and former editorinchief of The Real News Network an independent nonprofit news organization based in Baltimore Maryland He is also the founding chair of Hot Docs the Canadian documentary film festival Jay is the President of Counterspin Films a production company based in Toronto and New York
