Because Lydia hates the Mother of Shawn "Margo Lassandra" Shes deaf in one ear which makes Shawn speak very loudly. Way back when, Lydia asked directions to this certain place and Margo didnt hear, and said something mean but was really words to a song. So its all been a misunderstanding.
