Small town junk dealer/mayoral candidate Mort Lynch gives college dropout Barry Davis a job because he was once close friends with Barrys uncle. Barry and Morts relationship is uneasy and hes soon the number one suspect when someone bashes Morts skull with a monkey wrench and its found in Barrys car. Perry enters the case to defend Barry and discovers that the case hinges on a 20 year old counterfeiting scheme involving Barrys late uncle and a few "prominent" citizens in the town.
